B.A. Greek, with or without teaching qualification (“Lehramt”)
The bachelor’s programme in Greek has three main areas of focus:
- Mastery in Greek and the competence to critically reflect on it;
- Intensive study of ancient Greek literature and its transmission in antiquity and post-antiquity;
- Knowledge of the culture and history of (especially ancient Greek) antiquity.
The B.A. in Greek can be pursued either with the goal earning a teaching qualification (“Lehramt”), or as a normal university major without a teaching qualification. Both study tracks are offered as a major or minor subject.
