The Humboldt Student Society for Classical Studies

The Humboldt Student Society for Classical Studies is one of nine societies for high school students at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

What is the Humboldt Student Society for Classical Studies?

The Student Society for Classical Studies at Humboldt University was founded in late 2010. It is one of nine student societies at Humboldt-Universität that offers motivated students opportunities to engage with various subjects more intensively than is possible at school.

What does the Society do?

With its programme spread throughout the year, the Student Society for Ancient Studies is a forum for pupils from all over Germany to immerse themselves in subjects and topics that are not normally covered at school. These range from ancient philosophy and art to ancient languages, history, and archaeology.

In study groups led by university lecturers, pupils get to know Humboldt-Universität while they are still in school. One of the events’ important aims is to enable students to network with professors and lecturers as well as with their cross-grade peers.

How can I become a member of the Student Society?

Anyone interested can apply for membership from the tenth grade onwards with a letter of motivation, a copy of their school report and a recommendation from a teacher.
