CV and Research Interests

Claudia Mirrione (* 1985) was born in Italy, where she graduated in Classics from the University of Palermo (BA December 2007, cum laude). She received a degree of Magister Artium in Classical Studies with a Master’s Thesis on Galen's theory of κρᾶσις under the supervision of Prof. Sabrina Grimaudo (MA March 2011, cum laude). Afterwards she gained a scholarship from the University of Palermo for a post lauream specialization course abroad and spent a semester as visiting student at the University of Hamburg (April-September 2011). From September to December 2011 she worked as external collaborator at the CMG Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften. She is currently research fellow at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, within Philip van der Eijk’s research program “Medicine of the Mind, Philosophy of the Body”. Her dissertation aims at analysing the theories of mixture and in particular the concepts of κρᾶσις and μίξις in Galen's thought.
