Ricardo Julião was born in Lisbon were he graduated in Philosophy at New University of Lisbon in 2004. His thesis was on concept of pathos in Ancient Stoicism. He attended a masters in History and Philosophy of Sciences at the University of Lisbon and was a visiting student at the University of Texas at Austin where he worked with Prof. Jim Hankinson on his Masters dissertation on Galen On Madness. Among other things he organized a colloquium held at University of Lisbon in 2013 on Ancient and Contemporary Approaches to Madness, co-wrote three plays for theatre and taught Philosophy.
