Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - Faculty of Language, Literature and Humanities - Alexander von Humboldt Professorship

Zeit: montags, 10-12 Uhr, Unter den Linden 6, Raum 3053, wöchentlich

In this research colloquium, participants and guests present and discuss ongoing work on ancient medicine, ancient philosophy, the history of science and their reception. In addition, Greek and Latin medical texts that are currently in the process of being edited, translated and commented, are subjected to close reading and discussion. During Wintersemester 2019/20 the colloquium will be strongly connected with the project ‚Kairos, Krisis, Rhythmus. Time and Time Awareness in Ancient Medicine‘, supported by the Einstein Centrum CHRONOI.

Since work-in-progress and unpublished materials will be circulated in advance of the colloquium, participation needs to be confirmed with Prof. Dr. Philip van der Eijk (philip.van.der.eijk@hu-berlin.de).

*organised within the framework and supported by SFB 980 "Episteme in Motion. Transfer of knowledge from the Ancient World to the early modern period", Project A03: The Transfer of Medical Episteme in the ‘Encyclopaedic’ Compilations of Late Antiquity
