Within the seasons, when on the same day there is now heat, then cold, one has to expect diseases of autumn (III.4).

As for the seasons, in spring and early summer children and those following them in age are in the best condition and healthiest; in summer and part of autumn, old men are; and during the rest (of autumn) and in winter, the middle-aged (III.18).

Old men endure fasting most easily, then men of settled age; young men (endure it) very badly, but most of all children, and among them (especially) those who are livelier than usual (I.13).
